Love your enemies

Matthew 3:16-17 

16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” 

God is pleased with us when we choose to love and obey Him. Even before we do anything ; anything at all. 
When we spend time with Him, we get to know Him. He is the  Creator, Owner, and Ruler -God who made me; who never forsakes me, never left me. I leave Him and follow the world but He never leaves me; forever wanting me to overcome, to repent and make it to heaven. Why would I not love him with all my heart, and soul, and mind.  We say: Lord you do not get what is happening to me. If God does not get it who does? Our love of God must be a sincere love, It must be a strong love,   
That we can throw up our hands and cry out like tge Psalmist in the Bible:-
Bless the Lord, O my soul; 
And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 
Bless the Lord, O my soul, 
And forget not all His benefits: 
Who forgives all my iniquities, 
Who heals all my diseases, 
4Who redeems my life from destruction, 
Who crowns me with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 
Who satisfies my mouth with good things, 
So that my youth is renewed like the eagle’s.  

 A Love that DESIRES TO KNOW Him and give Him our all. A love that wants to know His Word and be amazed by the intensity and power of His love for us. Our love is but a drop in the ocean of love compared to that. Would I be willing to die an excruciating , shameful and painful death for my neighbour?Ivdo not know. It is hard to understand until you see the immense love of God. His Love never faileth. His love is unconditional- no tricks; no performance on our part is needed.

 1 John 4:20

20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?  

MATTHEW 5:44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. ‘
We are not perfect yet my friends, but as long as we walk with God, we are heading in the right path to perfection. He is the refiner’s fire; making ashes of our messes so that we can emerge brighter and sparkly. Knowing this, are you willing to walk with Him?
