My steps

My last blog talked about Hannah. I went through a similar experience at the beginning of this year. I was caught up in a marriage that left me bitter, so bitter that I walked in anger all the time. I was angry with everyone but in reality, I was angry with myself; a self-loathing that I would be so unworthy that nobody loved me and that I was very stupid and worthless. I quit my job and then my friend died of brain cancer and I blamed myself; for not being there at the start of it; not helping her  sooner…. It was a vicious cycle that always ended with me hating myself more. I quit another job. I was tired and felt myself at the end of the rope when the Lord showed me Ephesians 4 and told me I had to forgive especially my own self.

That New Year’s Eve, I asked the Lord to help me forgive myself and then I called and emailed everyone I was angry and bitter with and asked them to forgive me. Many of us may think why should I ? Do it anyways because it brings healing to your soul. You will be set free and no longer in bondage to the devil. For your sake, set things right. If you have a bible or online scripture, take some time and read Ephesians 1,2, and 4

As I see it; we have 2 choices either we love or we hate. Both 4 letter words – one to peace, rest and the other to destruction and bondage. Let love be the all to life in abundance, to learn at the Lord’s feet, to look with spiritual eyes the needs of our brothers and sisters.

Love God, talk to Him and listen to him. He will set you straight and the peace and joy that comes from listening to Him and reading His word is beyond understanding. God said He was well pleased with Jesus even before He started His ministry or did anything. We can love ourselves and our neighbors when we look at how God loved Jesus and in return how Jesus loves God. God loved Jesus and Jesus knew this because

God spoke it, God and Jesus spend time in prayer; in conversation together. Friends, do we spend time having conversations with God?
