Hebrews 10

We have been talking about the flesh, law , grace and spirit.

When the disciples were together in Jerusalem, they broke bread together from house to house, they shared all their belongings, helping each other, supporting and spending time in the Word

Reminds us of when we become new creations. Sharing the Word, serving, learning and being part of the church.

Then the persecution started. Nero burnt down Rome and blamed the Christians. They were hunted and became sport for the Romans. In Jerusalem, Stephen was martyred, James killed and Christian followers scattered to the wind. Historical accounts tell us of how the disciples were caught and  killed; John being left on the island of Patmos because he could not be killed and Paul beheaded in Rome.

We are in the end times.

Matthew 24

As we have read, the Jew prosylytes were falling away from their faith out of fear  and going back to the old ways which was safer.

Many of us are right now questioning our trust in the Lord. We maybe wavering, doubting because our answer; our healing or breakthrough has not come. Does God really care or even hear our cries. Why are families fighting and cursing each other? Why are children hating on their parents, siblings? I hear the sorrow and sadness.

We forget there is an adversary

1 Peter 5:8: “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.”

Ephesians 6:12: “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world.”

Revelation 12:9: “And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world.”

So there is an enemy. The young generation are easy prey as they are hungry for knowledge albeit wherever it comes. Their minds are easily poisoned. I came home to be close to family but I was accused of coming home to turn family against family by my nephew. It is a sad day when I was told to stay away and leave family alone.

Many times discernment and wisdom is missing. I pray the Lord will step in and be victorious.

We are children of God and many are the promises and blessings for those who are stayed on the Lord. We can pray and bless our children continually, knowing God loves them and cares for them.

Hebrews 13:15: “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.”

Luke 10:19: “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”

Romans 8:37: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

James 4:7: “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Romans 8:6

6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Let our eyes be always on Him, as times are getting dire; famine, recession, wars, family against family.

He is Lord of all
