I met a guy who said to me,
“ Do not talk to me about God. My stepfather was a Pastor. I am a pastor’s kid. I know the Bible inside out. I do not want to have anything to do with a God who is so violent to kill women and children. I am a scientist now.”
I did not answer him then, but I have thought about it a lot. I always wondered how I would answer that concern if that ever came up again
I thought,
it is like a man travelling; found this perfect place for his family, built a house, and had everything ready for his family. He notices his neighbours staring at him but when he asks them to join him, they would not. So, he leaves his house and goes to bring his family back.
After much travelling, he comes back with his family. When he gets to the door, he hears noises in the house. As he looks through the window, he sees the neighbours ; inside and destroying his house. He gets so mad. He looks back at his beloved wife and dear children looking at him with fear and trembling.
What should he do?
What would I do?”
In the book of Genesis – God created the world and put Adam and Eve in it. The enemy came, tricked them and took over the world. (he became the tuler and hod of this world and we received Adam’s sinful nature).
Genesis 6 speaks about the sons of God –6 When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God (creatures; namely the fallen angels – angels expelled from heaven (Revelation12:7-9 King James Version
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.)
saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever,
for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had childrenby them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown ( makes you think of Hercules etc. Maybe the old stories may not be legends or fables).
5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. 7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. “
Thank God for Noah. May we find favor with God in this wicked and perverse world. Well the stage has been set for wickedness to prevail in the world as long as Satan is the god of this world.
