What we put in our mouth is as vital to life as what we put out of our mouth. In this time and season of healthy living and body obsession, we forget what we say has as much impact as the food we eat.
In Matthew 4:4
Jesusanswered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
While we are going vegetarian, vegan, plant meater, carb, no carb, keto, etc, we look at ourselves in the mirror and we give ourselves other titles; fat, ugly, flabby, never lose it, never loved by our spouse etc. We eat more out of depression and anger; we are loose with our body and values; looking for satisfaction in alk the wrong places. We are so obsessed that we forget who we are in Christ.
Ephesians 4:29 says,
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Our ears are listening too. Every affirmation builds our confidence too. Remember we are princes and princesses; children of the Almighty God who loved us in our sinful life , enough to send His Son, Jesus. He looks at our heart and loves us.We will have a glorified body and enjoy eternal life . Joy unspeakable, peace surpassing understanding and wholeness.
Matthew 15:11 says,
“What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”
Through our negative condemnation, it is an invitation to evil spirits to come into us and live with us. Other times it causes us to lose our healing. Mark 11: 22-24 talks about what we say becoming reality.
Let us build up our faith by saying the right thing and thinking positive
Psalm 19:14 says,
“May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer”
As we please God, He will guide us in what we put into our body. This way we can love Him with our soul, spirit, body and mind. Completeness. We can confess Jesus and be saved. We can do what Psalm 71:8 says,
“My mouth is filled with your praise, and with your glory all the day.”
I love food but I am finding that it does not satisfy. I am always wanting more and wanting what other people are eating or having but
Proverbs 16:24 says
“Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.”
Lord help us to be content and gracious. Help us to be focused on You. Amen
